A friend was discussing different walks of life earlier. It got me thinking.
A "walk" is a series of steps strung together to form one action. What this means is each individual step is vitally important for the overall goal of arriving at the destination. In order to complete a walk, you must complete each step.
*Too many dog breeders are trying to complete the walk by skipping steps.
A breeder must take each and every step at precisely the correct time and not too early or too late.
What are the steps? Well, a few are : Health testing, training, culling, associate with quality breeders and organizations, attend events, & keep the breeds best interest above your best interest.
*Its one step at a time. Don't be in a rush. Be patient and do things the right way.
*Don't compare yourself to where other people are. Compare yourself to where you used to be.
As a breeder, one must always strive to be better and do better. Never be complacent or satisfied with your current status. Strive for greatness, but do it the right way.
